Giorgio Amendola
Autore/1907 - 1980
was an Italian partisan and a member of the Communist party, one of the most important protagonists of Italian history of the 20th century. He wrote several historiographic works and won the Viareggio Prize for the best essay in 1974 with his volume Letters to Milan. Memories and documents.
Towards the end of his life, he wrote two memoirs that were warmly acclaimed by the readers: A life choice and An Island, where he narrated his political and human journey with the tone of a novelist.
